Concord Camera Corp. appoints Steve Jackel President and Chief Operating Officer

AVENEL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 20, 1996--Concord Camera Corp. (NASDAQ: LENS) announced today the appointment of Steve Jackel (60) as president and chief operating officer.
Jackel has been serving as a Special Consultant since February, 1995, assisting in Concord's return to profitability and a restructuring of its operations and marketing.
A specialist with more than 30 years of retail and management experience, Jackel previously served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of McCrory's Stores division, a $1 billion retail company. He also served as president of McCrory Corp., the parent company.
In making the announcement, Ira B. Lampert chairman of Concord Camera said, "Steve Jackel's strong retail expertise and knowledge of Concord's strategy will be an asset to our continued growth. By bringing Steve, a strong retailer that understands our marketplace, to Concord, we are a uniquely positioned manufacturer with enhanced sales capabilities. Jackel, resides in New York City and will work in Concord's headquarters, located in Avenel .
CONCORD CAMERA CORP. is principally engaged in the manufacture and sale of popularly-priced, easy-to-use, 35 millimeter, 110 cartridge, and single-use cameras which it manufactures and assembles in the PRC under the CONCORD, KEYSTONE, LE CLIC trade names and for sales outside the United States and Mexico, ARGUS trade names, as well as private labels.
