Arakis Terminates Arrangement with Walid Al-Omar and Rosscape A.I.D

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 23, 1996--ARAKIS ENERGY (NASDAQ: AKSEF) Arakis Energy Corporation reports that it has terminated its arrangement with Walid Al-Omar and Rosscape A.I.D. based on no evidence of progress on a potential financing which was announced on September 22, 1995, between Mr. Walid Al-Omar and a proposed Far East Bank, and the Company. Demands for evidence of performance have been given by Arakis in respect of those arrangements, with no result.
Arakis continues to pursue a number of possible options for financing the construction of a proposed 950 mile export oil pipeline, that will facilitate the transportation of an initial 85,000 barrels of oil a day by 1998.
