As of Dec. 31, 1995, the company operated 820 Musicland and Sam Goody stores and a total of 1,496 retail stores in 49 states, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and the United Kingdom under the names Sam Goody/Musicland, Suncoast Motion Picture Co., Media Play and On Cue. It is also the parent of Request Media Inc., publisher of REQUEST magazine, which has an audited monthly circulation of 700,000.
