James Stephen Turner joins The Bank of Nashville Board

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 12, 1996--James Stephen Turner, 48, was elected to the board of directors of The Bank of Nashville (NASDAQ: TBON), bank President and Chairman Mack S. Linebaugh Jr., announced today. Turner's election to the board increases the number of directors to 10.

Turner currently serves as interim president and chief executive officer of Farmers National Bank in Scottsville, Kentucky. Additionally, he serves as chairman of the board of FNB Financial Corporation in Scottsville.

Turner was with Dollar General Corporation from 1971 until 1990, beginning as a domestic apparel buyer and ultimately serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer. While at Dollar General, Turner assisted in the development of the Dollar General Literacy Program which received the Presidential Award for Private Sector Initiative and the Benjamin Franklin Award from the Saturday Evening Post.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University, Turner is chairman of the Board of Trustees of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and a member of the Canby-Robinson Society.

Turner and his wife, Judy, recently completed the renovation of Butler's Run on Historic Second Avenue in Nashville. The five story building, which serves as their principal residence, combines retail, office and residential space.
