Mississippi Chemical Corporation announces 25% increase in quarterly dividend

YAZOO CITY, Miss.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1996--The Board of Directors of Mississippi Chemical Corporation (Nasdaq:MISS) has increased the quarterly cash dividend on its common stock by 25% from $0.08 per share to $0.10 per share. The dividend will be payable February 21, 1996, to holders of record on January 31, 1996.

Commenting on the dividend increase, Charles O. Dunn, President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "I am pleased to announce this increase, which reflects our confidence in the company's ability to continue its exceptional operating performance."

Mississippi Chemical Corporation, a major manufacturer of fertilizers, produces and markets all three primary crop nutrients. Nitrogen fertilizer is manufactured at the company's facilities in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and at Triad Chemical, a joint venture located at Donaldsonville, Louisiana, in which the company owns a 50 percent interest. The company also produces potash at Carlsbad, New Mexico, and diammonium phosphate at Pascagoula, Mississippi.
