PARSIPPANY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 2, 1996--As a complement to the company's recently introduced industry-first Computer Telephony (CT) VAR program, Dialogic Corp. (NASDAQ:DLGC), the world's leading supplier of CT hardware and software platforms, will open new profit opportunities for value-added resellers by promoting "best of breed" applications through its CT Select channel program.
Dialogic has teamed with leading software providers Applied Voice Technology (AVT), Caleo, Expert Systems, Parity Software, RightFAX and Voysys to provide VARs with a software "roadmap" of Dialogic-tested-and-approved solutions for the CT arena. These hardware/software solutions are certified "channel-ready" and supported by a comprehensive set of support offerings.
With the convergence of traditional telephony environments and network computing applications, many VARs are seeking methods to overcome the barriers to entry associated with a new market such as CT while also providing robust solutions to new and existing customers. The recent introduction of Dialogic's VAR program was geared toward bringing new VARs into the rapidly expanding computer telephony market. CT Select complements Dialogic's VAR program and further assists many of the VARs who have delayed entering the CT arena due to the specialized nature of the technology and support requirements.
"CT Select is an array of software products chosen to suit the skill set and customer base of the VAR community," said Dialogic Channel Program Manager Steven Mariconda. "Technically, the offerings range from Visual Basic extensions through `finishing touch' applications through which the VAR can provide a spectrum of added value while also feeling comfortable in the sales process. On the application side, the offerings complement what the VAR is already selling -- specialty servers, data bases, and local area networks. The beauty of the program is that it helps direct VARs to the offerings which best enhance their ability to succeed."
Dialogic's role in the CT Select program centers on raising awareness within the channel and in front of end users while identifying and developing appropriate "channel-ready" solutions in conjunction with CT Select partners. The CT Select program partners are: -0-
-- Applied Voice Technology: Developer of Call Xpress3, provides unified messaging, call management, and interactive voice response (IVR).
-- Caleo: Developer of the Communications Suite, defines how calls are managed; Call Center; and Caleo Tools, a developer's toolkit for the Caleo architecture.
-- Expert Systems: Creator of the EASE integrated development environment for CT applications; and EASEy FrameWorks for facilitating call management automation.
-- Parity Software: Developer of CallSuite components for building voice and fax applications.
-- RightFAX: Developer of RightFAX 4.0 and RightFAX NT fax server software.
-- Voysys: Developer of VoysAccess toolkits for integrated voice response (IVR) applications. -0-
The CT Select participants will offer their software products with Dialogic voice/fax hardware specific to the VAR's application. Within the CT Select program, Dialogic will act as a clearing house of information for the channel as well as a marketing service bureau, handling incoming inquiries and fulfilling requests for information.
Program Components Help VARs Break Into New Market
The CT Select program will kick off with an advertising campaign which promotes the market opportunity for VARs in a variety of industry publications. The Dialogic-sponsored program ads will promote awareness of computer telephony and educate prospective VARs on the opportunities within the CT market while illustrating how the CT Select program is a low-risk, low-hassle method to get started. Other plan components include: -0-
-- Reseller Help Desk: A dedicated Dialogic resource will support VARs in the areas of RFP response, literature fulfillment, information requests, and system configuration.
-- Field Seminars: Dialogic is developing a seminar series, co-sponsored by CT Select participants providing complementary products, designed to educate VARs on the technology, applications and "how to sell" strategies.
-- Reseller Training: A self-paced tutorial handbook will be developed by Dialogic and the CT Select participants to educate network/computer resellers on the CT market. The handbook focuses on CT "basics," identifying and fulfilling application needs and target audience sales techniques. In addition, subsequent training will be developed by CT Select partners.
-- Collateral Materials: Dialogic has prepared "A Reseller's Guide To CTI" to be used to educate the channel and provide information on CT Select Program participants.
-- "CT Ready, Select and Go" CD ROM: The "CT Ready, Select and Go" CD ROM contains everything a reseller requires to become familiar with the technology including a suite of working applications from CT Select Program participants that the VAR can use to run their business, plus product demonstrations a VAR can use for internal and customer education.
