ARDIS to offer Wireless Lotus communications solutions; ARDIS to distribute Motorola's AirMobile Wireless Software for Lotus cc:Mail and AirMobile Wireless Software for Lotus Notes

LINCOLNSHIRE, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 23, 1996--ARDIS, a Lotus business partner, today announced that it will offer AirMobile(TM) Wireless Software for cc:Mail and AirMobile(TM) Wireless Software for Notes, both from Motorola, direct to end-users and reseller organizations. Announced at Lotusphere, a Lotus Business Partner Conference taking place this week in Orlando, Fla., ARDIS will market complete wireless Lotus(TM) cc:Mail and Notes solutions, becoming the first wireless network provider to offer one-stop shopping through ARDIS and its resellers, making it easy for customers to wirelessly extend the popular communications applications.

As a Motorola master distributor, ARDIS will offer wireless Lotus cc:Mail and Notes solutions from Motorola, ARDIS air time, and installation and technical support, along with comprehensive sales and marketing training through its channels. ARDIS will continue to grow its reseller channels with a focus on adding Lotus premier resellers and partners.

AirMobile Wireless Software for cc:Mail from Motorola, an extension to Lotus cc:Mail Mobile for Windows, allows Lotus cc:Mail users to send and receive messages wirelessly. By employing ARDIS air time services, AirMobile Wireless Software for cc:Mail users can instantly send and receive messages, manage business contacts and maintain continuous contact with colleagues across the U.S. using the ARDIS nationwide network.
AirMobile Wireless Software for Notes from Motorola allows Notes users to wirelessly send and receive mail and file attachments virtually anytime, anywhere - as if they were sitting at their desk. AirMobile Software for Notes also introduces message filtering, which allows Lotus Notes users to select the types of messages they want to receive while away from the office. AirMobile Wireless Software for Notes does not change any features of the Notes software; the wireless communication solution supports most aspects of the messaging feature of Notes, including security and data encryption.
Both AirMobile software solutions for cc:Mail and Notes will be offered by ARDIS in configurations ranging from single-user to site licenses, allowing ARDIS to meet the mobile professional needs of organizations of all sizes.
