AKRON, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 1996--Ohio Edison Company today announced that its new Internet site on the World Wide Web -- http://www.ohioedison.com -- has been activated. The site offers a wide variety of information for anyone who wants to learn more about the company and its services.
The Web site can be accessed by using any Internet service provider, including America Online, CompuServe and Prodigy, or by using a Web browser software program, which can be downloaded without charge through most Internet service providers.
Ohio Edison's Web site offers visitors an attractive and easy-to-use format for finding information that will be updated regularly. Topics for customers include energy-efficiency programs, energy savings tips, community service programs, electric safety, and phone numbers and addresses of customer service offices. Investors can quickly find out the trading price of Edison's common stock, which is updated every 30 minutes when The New York Stock Exchange is in session, as well as information on financial and operating developments, shareholder services, and outstanding company securities.
