Advanced Viral Research Corp. enters into exclusive distribution agreement in People's Republic of China

HALLANDALE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 1996--Advanced Viral Research Corp. (OTC:ADVR) enters into exclusive distribution agreement to distribute the anti-viral drug RETICULOSE in the People's Republic of China with Beijing Unistone Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd.

The company was informed that Unistone is a joint venture between Stone Group, Peking University, and Medy Co. The agreement calls for the testing of RETICULOSE for safety and efficacy for approval of RETICULOSE for commercial sale in the People's Republic of China. Upon approval, the agreement calls for the minimum bulk purchases of $1 million the first year, $3 million the second year, and $10 million the third year.

Contemporaneous with the execution of the agreement with Beijing Unistone, the company entered into an agreement whereby the present distributor transferred its right to Beijing Unistone in exchange for a royalty fee based on sales to the People's Republic of China.

RETICULOSE is a non-toxic anti-viral peptide nucleic acid solution which, based on previous history, has been shown to be effective against a number of viral diseases.
