IntellAgent Control Now Offers Full Groupware Communications and Enterprise Management Tools for Users of ACT! and GoldMine; Technology Migration Path from Contact Managers to Notes-Based Groupware Now Simplified

Business Wire, Jan 8, 1996

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 8, 1996--IntellAgent Control Corporation today unveils two new IntellAgents(TM) software "pumps" that allow for two-way transfer of data between the IntellAgent Control System(TM), a best-selling groupware solution on Lotus Notes(TM), and the two most popular contact manager programs, according to Howard M. Getson, president and CEO of IntellAgent Control Corporation.

The new pumps enable current users of Symantec's ACT!(TM) and ELANSoftware's GoldMine(TM) to migrate to the communications and management benefits of a full-scale groupware sales force automation solution, without abandoning the software solutions employed by their field and sales force personnel. The IntellAgents pumps retrieve data from all fields, including notes and comments, of ACT! and GoldMine to the central Notes database. They simultaneously enable updating of the individual user's contact databases with the latest contact and project management information.

"IntellAgent Control's two-way interactivity with ACT! and GoldMine offers sales organizations more options in their migration path to groupware sales force automation," explained Getson. "While sales managers and large-account managers profit heavily from the team communications and management toolset offered by an enterprise-wide solution like IntellAgent Control, some sales professionals prefer or require only the contact-management and task-planning functions offered by personal information managers. The IntellAgents pumps now deliver the security and replication benefits of Notes to users of ACT! or GoldMine, as well as fully enabled users of IntellAgent Control."

IntellAgent Control Corporation pioneered the development of data-sharing utilities between groupware and PIMs. An earlier version of the IntellAgents data pump, released in 1993, allowed one-way sharing of ACT! data with the IntellAgent Control central database in Notes. The pump has been employed by a number of IntellAgent Control's corporate customers, many of whom have used IntellAgents as a tool for stepped migration of large sales organizations from ACT! to IntellAgent Control. These firms also use the pump as a means of exchanging select information with outside companies, such as VARs and client firms, which use PIMs.

IntellAgent Control Corporation was founded in 1991 as Veritas Technologies, Inc. and commercially introduced IntellAgent Control in 1993. The company recently changed its name to reinforce corporate identity with its flagship product.
