"It contains everything a beginning programmer needs to get going; and at this price, we expect Discover Programming for Macintosh to fly off the shelves."
Discover Programming for Macintosh
Discover Programming for Macintosh is the first in a series of training programming products from Metrowerks. It contains Metrowerks' award-winning C, C and Object Pascal compilers for 68K code-generation on CD-ROM, as well as three online books, Learn C on the Macintosh, Second Edition, and Learn C on the Macintosh, both by Macintosh writer, Dave Mark, and Programming Starter Kit for Macintosh by Jim Trudeau.
Dave Mark has authored seven books on programming and Internet-related subjects for the Macintosh, and started programming on the Macintosh in 1984. Jim Trudeau is a long-time Macintosh expert, and has taught at the Apple Developer University.
Also included in Discover Programming for Macintosh are four Apple guide files. Each book has a guide file that connects the user to appropriate projects in the CodeWarrior product. The fourth guide file works with Netscape Navigator and other browsers to direct the user to the best programming-related Internet Web sites.
Discover Programming for Macintosh contains a complete, working copy of Metrowerks' CodeWarrior product, licensed for commercial use. The product runs on any Macintosh, and generates native code for 68K-based machines. "This product is for anyone who would like to learn how to program, ranging from beginning Mac developers to PC programmers who want to learn Macintosh programming," said Belanger. "Discover Programming for Macintosh is an easy way to get access to Metrowerks' proven CodeWarrior technology without a large investment."
