Paradigm Music Entertainment establishes radio division to nationally syndicate live concerts; Debut show set for July 4 with Blues Traveler

Business Wire, July 1, 1996

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 1, 1996--Paradigm Music Entertainment has launched a new radio division that will present the latest modern rock artists live in concert from major venues around the country, it was announced today by Paradigm CEO Tom McPartland.

Paradigm Radio will air its debut show on the 4th of July with Blues Traveler live in concert from the Red Rocks Ampitheater outside of Denver. Subsequent shows will feature such breakout bands as The Nixons, Ruby, Afghan Wigs, the Posies, Son Volt, and many others.

The program was created by Paradigm's Stacy Meyrowitz and is being produced by Meyrowitz and Jeanne DeSanctis, also of Paradigm. Both will be responsible for selecting and booking talent, venues, programming, special events, and artist relations. The Blues Traveler concert will be produced in association with MediaAmerica, who will spearhead station clearances, related distribution and advertising sales for this initial event only. A permanent syndication alliance will be announced shortly.

"The concert series will be much more than just another syndicated radio show," said Paradigm's McPartland. "Paradigm views this an effective new platform in the artist development process. Although we will be featuring established acts like Blues Traveler, we will be giving a great deal of attention and focus to the bands who are just beginning to develop a buzz. As with all of our other Paradigm projects, we are attempting to create new and alternative avenues of exposing and developing new artists."

This constitutes Paradigm Radio's first of several planned ventures into radio programming. Paradigm Music Entertainment was formed in January of this year and is funded by investment bankers D.H. Blair, one of Wall Street's leading IPO firms. -0- Paradigm Press Materials Available On The Internet at www.businesswire.com/emk/pme.htm
