REPEAT/ UNIX EXPO Plus, I2 to feature all-star keynote lineup; Bill Gates of Microsoft, Ed Zander of Sun, Eric Hahn of Netscape, Alok Mohan of SCO and Russell Lewis of Jeffries & Company to provide visions for enterprise systems

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 15, 1996-- Five influential computer industry executives will fill the slate of keynote speakers this fall for UNIX EXPO Plus, October 8-10, 1996 at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Keynote speakers at the UNIX EXPO Plus enterprise computing event will include: Bill Gates of Microsoft, Ed Zander of Sun Microsystems, Alok Mohan of SCO, Eric Hahn of Netscape Communications, and Russell Lewis of Jeffries & Company.

Reflecting new technologies and computing platforms, UNIX EXPO Plus will feature an expanded Windows NT focus on both the show floor and in the conference program. For the first time, UNIX EXPO Plus -- which will feature more than 400 exhibitors -- will run concurrently with a new event, the Intranet Internet (I2) Expo, a show and conference that will explore high-end Internet tools and Intranets.

The UNIX EXPO and I2 keynote series will complement an ambitious conference program and expanded trade show floor that will focus on the use of UNIX and Windows NT for developing and supporting enterprise-wide, mission-critical applications.

The schedule of keynote presentations, in chronological order, will include: Edward J. Zander, president of Sun Microsystems Computer Company, will deliver his keynote address on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 9:30 a.m.; Eric Hahn, senior vice president, enterprise technology, at Netscape Communications Corp., will speak on Oct. 8, at 12:30 p.m.; William H. Gates, chairman and CEO of Microsoft Corporation, will address attendees, Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 9 a.m.; Alok Mohan, president and chief executive officer of SCO will deliver his keynote address at 1:15 p.m. that day. Russell Lewis, chief information officer of Jeffries & Company, Inc., a global technology company for equities trading, will deliver his keynote, Thursday, Oct. 10, at 9 a.m. All keynote presentations will take place in the Special Events Hall of the Javits Center.

UNIX EXPO Plus and I2 exhibitors will include: AIM Technology, ANS, AT&T, Attachmate, Caldera, Cheyenne Software, Clariion, Computer Associates, Data General, Digital Equipment Corp., Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard, Industry.Net, Information Builders, Legato Systems, Mannesman Tally, NetManage, Network General, O'Reilly & Associates, Powersoft, SAS Institute, SCO, Silicon Graphics, Storage Dimensions, Sun Microsystems, Syncsort, Tatung, Tektronix, Unisys, WRQ and Xerox.

The I2 Expo will expand to other venues, running concurrently with established Blenheim events. The show will run with Blenheim's Networks Expo, Feb. 18-20, 1997 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA, and for the second year, I2 will run concurrently with DB/EXPO, May 12-16, 1997 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, CA.
