Hyperion Named to Open Systems Advisors "A" List; Leading Industry Analyst, Customers Say Hyperion's Budgeting/Business Planning Solution Provides Superior Functionality, Scalability for Enterprise-wide Deployment
Business Wire, July 16, 1996
STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1996--Open Systems Advisors, Inc., an industry analyst firm in Boston, Mass., has selected Hyperion Pillar for its "A" List of field-proven, enterprise-wide products and services. Hyperion Pillar is the market's leading budgeting and business planning solution.
Based upon in-depth interviews with three customers, Open Systems Advisors reviews and selects fully implemented packaged software solutions for the "A" List. The products must meet stringent selection criteria, including multi-platform support, openness to other applications, scalability across the enterprise and positive business impact for the customers.
The nearly 60 products on the "A" List include applications, development environments, hardware and operating systems. Products are given one of three ratings: "AA"--in production today; "A"--in development or pilot; or "P"--promising new technology. Hyperion is the only financial software vendor given an "AA" rating on this year's "A" List.
Hyperion Pillar, in use by more than 530 companies worldwide, is sold modularly or as a component of Hyperion(R) Software's (NASDAQ: HYSW) complete suite of client/server financial applications encompassing accounting, reporting, budgeting and analysis.
"We were impressed with Hyperion Pillar's ability to support complex budgeting processes, from the CEO to line managers," said Nina Lytton, president of Open Systems Advisors. "The product's ability to manage data across numerous financial systems and platforms and to enable collaborative budgeting and planning is exemplary. Customers call Hyperion Pillar `the Cadillac of budgeting applications' and rate Hyperion's consultants and support as outstanding."
Hyperion Pillar 2.5, commercially available now in North America with an international release slated for October, includes French and German translation for the international market, augmenting the multi-currency features released last fall, and new integration capabilities.
"The inclusion of Hyperion Pillar on the `A' List further validates what our customers have always known--Hyperion Pillar is the best planning and budgeting application available," said William Stein, vice-president, Hyperion Pillar. "Pillar's ability to operate independently or to integrate with other Hyperion and non-Hyperion applications is essential for large organizations' heterogeneous environments. The addition of Pillar's new ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) driver adds flexibility and further enhances such seamless integration."
