Microsoft and Citrix sign ICA licensing agreement; ICA letter of intent announced in March formalized with licensing agreement

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1996--Citrix Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CTXS) today announced it has signed a definitive licensing agreement granting Microsoft the right to embed Citrix ICA client software support in upcoming versions of Microsoft Windows and Windows NT operating systems and both the 16- and 32-bit versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows. Today's agreement formalizes the letter of intent signed and announced by the companies in March of this year.
The companies anticipate that the first Microsoft product to include the ICA client software will be the upcoming version 3.0 release of Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows, which is currently in beta test. Announcements of additional Microsoft products with integrated ICA support will be made at later dates.
Citrix Systems Inc. develops, markets and supports multi-user application server software under license and strategic agreement with Microsoft. Founded in 1989, Citrix is based in Coral Springs, Fla.
