Vitro announces new Ps$1,725 million - US$230 million - long-term debt facility with Mexican Banking Group

New Facility to Substitute for Existing Vitro Commercial Paper

Vitro, Sociedad Anonima (BMV:Vitro; NYSE:VTO) today announced the closing of new long-term loan arrangements with Mexican Banks in the aggregate amount of Ps$1,725 million (US$230 million), totally applied to the payment of short-term market debt (commercial paper) issued by Vitro, S.A. (holding company).

The tenure under the new loans is four years, with a single bullet payment at the end of the term. Interest will be computed at market rates.

The benefits of the transaction for Vitro include both a longer average life for the debt, as well as increased liquidity as a result of freeing up commercial paper lines.

This transaction is part of the debt reduction and consolidation effort underway in all the companies of Vitro, S.A. Vitro, S.A. produces glass containers, flat glass, automotive glass, glassware, plastic containers, aluminum cans and household appliances for commercial, industrial and consumer use.
