CommVision Alliance With Attachmate Addresses High Density Remote Access For The Enterprise/Internet/Intranet Market
Business Wire, July 22, 1996
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 22, 1996-- CommVision Corporation, a manufacturer of high-end remote access servers, today announced an agreement with Attachmate, provider of enterprise connectivity solutions, that will enable customers who require unprecedented remote access density, manageability, and scaleability, to implement systems of hundreds or thousands of remote access ports using a single scaleable architecture. Under the terms of the agreement, CommVision's CommSwitch server will be bundled with Attachmate's RLN and RLN Application Server software. The resulting preconfigured remote access system, known as the RLN CommSwitch, will be distributed and supported by both companies.

"Because our customers often require remote access on an enterprise scale, and the convenience of a single high-density server chassis, we're particularly enthusiastic about our partnership with CommVision," said Todd Mavis, Vice President of Business Development and Strategic Alliances at Attachmate.
The partnership is the result of both companies realizing that customers need help in selecting, configuring, and supporting large remote access communication environments. Attachmate and CommVision have simplified the process by providing a solution that facilitates remote connectivity for telecommuters and mobile work forces.
"Attachmate's software products directly complement our CommSwitch remote access server platform," said Majid Soleimani, President and CEO of CommVision. "With a single RLN CommSwitch, customers can support configurations of up to 240 asynchronous lines, 115 ISDN sessions, 80 X.25 sessions, or combinations, as required."
Companies can immediately begin implementing the RLN CommSwitch by contacting CommVision or Attachmate for more information. Product pricing will be announced within 30 days, and products will be available immediately thereafter.
