Business Wire, July 23, 1996

SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 1996--Borland International Inc. today announced increased support for the company's Premier Partner Program through additional strategic alliances with leading system integrators and consultants, Delphi Client/Server certification, a new InterBase Test Drive program, and a new Premier VAR program for building cross-platform client/server solutions. Since the announcement of Borland's Premier Partner Program in February 1996, 23 industry-leading system integrators and consultants have joined the program to provide major corporations and government clients with applications, consulting and training services for Borland's client/server software products (Delphi Client/Server, InterBase and ReportSmith).

"The Premier Partner Program has quickly grown into an association of leading strategic solutions providers focused on delivering high-quality solutions and services for client/server and Internet application development," said Michael Greenbaum, vice president of worldwide marketing at Borland. "With Delphi Client/Server Suite's high-performance and true object-oriented programming environment, system integrators and VARs are utilizing Delphi Client/Server Suite to provide their clients with a business advantage."

Organizations who have recently joined the program include: Automated Concepts Inc., Cambridge Technology Partners, IPC Technologies Inc., Millennium Computer Technology, Professional Computer Solutions Inc., Sterling Information Group, and Tactics. Existing members of the program include: Arthur Andersen Business Consulting; ANATEC; Grant Thornton LLP; Financial Dynamics; LINC Systems Corporation; Decision Consultants Inc.; Computer Generated Solutions; Client/Servers; Adams and Reynolds; Dunn Systems; Erudite Software; Compuware; Integrated Systems Consulting Group; Mastech Corporation; Interlink Group Inc.; and Raymond James Consulting. Borland's Premier Partners have successfully sold and implemented Delphi Client/Server systems for large corporations and government agencies such as: American Family Insurance, America Online, Chrysler Corporation, EDS, the Federal Trade Commission, GE Capital, Intermountain Healthcare, International Paper, Merrill Lynch, and Times Publishing.

"Borland's Premier Partner Program has not only strengthened our market position, but it has also allowed us to establish new client relationships," said Gary Gentry, vice president of technology for ANATEC. "We have embraced Delphi 2.0 and created a suite of multimedia components to be used in kiosk and Internet-based applications. Delphi's speed, flexibility, and true object-oriented language allow us to deliver on our promises. For us, it s the new standard for corporate developers."

"Since becoming a Borland Premier Partner in September 1995, we have sold over $500,000 of Delphi Client/Server Suite, and another $500,000 for training and consulting," said Paul Fischer, senior manager for Financial Dynamics, a client/server training and development firm serving corporations worldwide. "We've gained a significant number of new clients because of our relationship with Borland, and have converted a lot of our existing clients to Delphi Client/Server Suite. For the next year, we're expecting to sell almost $1.5 million of Delphi Client/Server Suite product sales alone, not including training and consulting. We're quickly building up our staff in order to support the high demand for Delphi, and because of our clients' interest in working with Borland tools for their Internet development."

"Sterling Information Group uses the best technology available for our clients," said Darrell Hanshaw, vice president of software consulting for Sterling Information Group, a new member to the program. "Borland's Delphi is clearly a leading client/server development environment that can help us provide our customers with industrial-strength solutions for their demanding business problems. We view the Premier Partner Program as an opportunity to help our clients take advantage of this outstanding product, both with applications in the traditional client/server arena and in Internet/Web applications, as well."
