GSA Earns PG&E Rebate for Energy Efficiency

Business Wire, July 25, 1996

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 25, 1996--The General Services Administration of San Francisco received a rebate check for $70,000 on July 18 from Pacific Gas and Electric Company for using energy-efficient technologies at its new United States Geological Survey laboratory in Menlo Park.

The 150,000-square-foot building, which opened June 28, includes high-efficient fluorescent lamps and air conditioning equipment that reduce energy consumption. The energy-efficient features are expected to save $100,000 a year by reducing the building's electric usage by a million kilowatthours.

The GSA is the contracting and building management arm of the federal government, owning and managing about 1,775 facilities nationwide.

PG&E's Customer Energy Efficiency programs reward customers for investing in energy-saving equipment. -0-
