Sagent Technology Garners $6.5 in Financing; U.S. Venture Partners joins Crosspoint, El Dorado and Greylock to back data mart start-up

MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 29, 1996--Sagent Technology, Inc., the newest entrant in the fast-growing data mart market, today announced it has obtained $6.5 million in third-round financing that will help the company to bring to market its soon-to-be-announced integrated data mart solution for Windows NT.
U.S. Venture Partners is the newest on the list of investors for Sagent, which includes Crosspoint Venture Partners, El Dorado Ventures and Greylock Limited Partnerships.
"Data marts go a long way to solve the problem of delivering information to users in a timely fashion, and in a form they can use to make better, faster business decisions -- making this the fastest-growing segment of the data warehousing market," said Marc A.
