EPSON announces extended service program for POS and handheld product lines

TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1996--Underscoring its commitment to customer satisfaction, EPSON has expanded its EPSON Extra Care (EEC) extended service program to cover its point-of-sale and handheld computer products.
"EPSON's Extra Care program reinforces our service commitment to our point-of-sale product lines of receipt printers, intelligent terminals, pole displays and handheld computers," said Bud Weist, business unit director, EPSON. "Our objective is to provide a variety of service options so that our customers can select the one that best suits the needs of their business."
The Epson Extra Care (EEC) program allows customers to extend their service agreements beyond the standard one-year warranty period. EEC Certificates are available in one- and two-year increments and provide carry-in-coverage.
Purchase of new certificates must be made within 90 days of original product purchase and renewals for existing EEC Certificates must be made within 30 days of certificate expiration date.
Customers with an existing EPSON account number may order certificates from EPSON's Parts Department at 800/234-1445. End users should contact their EPSON OEM reseller or EPSON Accessories at 800/873-7766 to purchase certificates.
EPSON offers an array of technology products for the OEM market, including liquid crystal displays (LCDs), PCMCIA cards, storage products, handheld computers, point-of-sale printers and intelligent terminals. For the consumer and business markets, EPSON offers ink jet, laser and dot matrix printers, as well as LCD video projectors and digital cameras.
