Jacobs Announces Crss International, Inc. Awarded Contract By Abu Dhabi National Oil Company

Business Wire, July 9, 1996

HOUSTON, TEXAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 9, 1996--Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.) office of CRSS International, Inc. (a Jacobs subsidiary) has been appointed by the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) to conduct a feasibility study and prepare a master plan for the expansion of their housing complex in Ruwais.

The contract value was not disclosed.

Ruwais is one of the major petrochemical centers in the U.A.E. and is undergoing a large expansion in capacity. The existing housing complex will be enlarged to accommodate the additional ADNOC personnel required to operate the new petrochemical facilities.

CRSS International's Emirates office will be establishing the requirements for additional infrastructure, housing, schools, shopping, recreation, medical clinics, and mosques. It will then prepare the master plan for development of these new facilities.

The existing housing community of 1,350 units will be increased to over 3,000 units, more than doubling the size of the existing town. ADNOC hopes to complete the construction of the project by the year 2000.

In making the announcement, David Syphard, president of CRSS International, stated, "CRSS International had the privilege of working with ADNOC on the original design and construction of the new town of Ruwais, and now looks forward to continuing our relationship with ADNOC for its expansion."
