Michael Porter joins Cobra Golf as vice president of human resources

CARLSBAD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 9, 1996--Cobra Golf Inc. Tuesday announced the hiring of Michael Porter as the vice president of human resources.
In this new position, Porter will oversee all human-resource functions, including employee management and strategic planning.
Porter has 30 years' human-resource experience in manufacturing companies. He comes to Cobra Golf from Waterloo Industries Inc., which is also an operating company of American Brands Inc. At Waterloo Industries, he was involved in re-engineering and organizational development. He also oversaw rapid growth, including a new manufacturing-facility start-up.
``Mike's extensive experience in human resources is a great addition to Cobra's team,'' said Mark McClure, president and chief executive officer of Cobra Golf. ``He will play a key role in Cobra's continued success.''
Cobra Golf designs, manufactures and markets high-quality golf clubs principally for the premium-priced game-improvement segment of the golf-equipment market. Cobra Golf's primary focus is on oversize irons and titanium metalwoods marketed and sold under the King Cobra brand name. -0-
