LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 12, 1996--Union Bank Wednesday announced that it partnered with America Online and Intuit Inc. to offer online banking and bill-payment services via America Online.

Bank@Home for AOL, part of Union Bank's Bank@Home family of home banking solutions, will be available to AOL's more than 6 million subscribers in late August. The service reaffirms Union Bank's commitment to customer satisfaction and technological leadership.

"Union Bank is trying to meet the changing needs of our customers, who are demanding more choice, convenience, and flexibility," said Frank Han, vice president of interactive markets for Union Bank. "With Bank@Home for AOL, we have developed a very simple, powerful way to serve an attractive, growing customer base."

Union Bank will unveil its site on America Online later this summer. Customers will access Bank@Home with Intuit's BankNOW, an all-in-one screen online banking and bill payment software which customers will be able to download for free over AOL.

Bank@Home allows customers with a PC and modem to monitor their account balances, access transaction history, transfer funds between accounts, and pay bills. Bank@Home for AOL will join Bank@Home for Quicken and Bank@Home for Microsoft Money, Union Bank's two highly successful existing online banking services.

Union Bank's Vice Chairman Richard C. Hartnack said, "We're committed to providing customers with as much choice as the market can support. Partnerships with great companies like Intuit and America Online enable us to give customers the best possible online solutions."

Han added, "With the launch of Bank@Home for AOL, we will be able to serve a good chuck of the online markets as well as virtually all of the personal financial software market. We intend to announce a Bank@Home solution for Internet users in the near future as well."
