UUNET Technologies Inc. to provide GE Information Services with Internet Services for Small Businesses

FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 17, 1996--UUNET Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: UUNT), the first commercial Internet service provider and a leading supplier of Internet Services for business, today announced that it has been selected by GE Information Services (GEIS) to provide Internet services for its GE BusinessPro small business information service. With this agreement, GEIS will provide Internet access services to GE BusinessPro users through the UUNET Internet network.
GE BusinessPro is a complete resource package designed specifically for small businesses. It provides access to business information, expert consultants, travel services, GE buying discounts, and e-mail, among other services. GEIS will offer GE BusinessPro users access to its information service and other Internet resources through UUNET's extensive Internet dial-up network and high-speed backbone.
The UUNET network is one of the world's largest data communications systems. GEIS customers will be able to gain local access in 255 cities throughout the United States. When combined with UUNET's fully-redundant, fully-meshed DS3 (45 Mbps) backbone, GE BusinessPro users will receive industry-leading Internet responsiveness and capacity.
