REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 24, 1996--US Online Inc. today announced it is shipping Internet Made Easy Version 1.5, a CD-ROM-based software package that simplifies the process of getting on and using the Internet.
Internet Made Easy provides a variety of the most wanted tools designed to help people get connected and experience the World Wide Web (WWW) on their terms.
New to version 1.5 are leading online service provider WOW, Internet access provider EarthLink Network, and the two leading Web browsers, Internet Explorer 2.0 and Netscape Navigator 2.0. Net Nanny, Cyber Patrol, and CYBERsitter, software that makes the Internet safe for families, are also new to version 1.5.
Internet Made Easy also features an improved user interface that combines the "Profiler" and "Launch Pad" into one screen. The software's database has been expanded to include tens of thousands of high-quality Web sites. The personal "Home Page," automatically created by Internet Made Easy, includes an improved interface and an enhanced online Internet tutorial for new users.

Internet Made Easy does three things: first it profiles the user by asking a series of questions about their interests, computing habits, and hardware configuration. It then makes recommendations for the most appropriate Internet services for the user's needs and installs the selected software (user directed).
Finally, it creates a personalized "Home Page" which acts as a personal interface to the Internet allowing users faster, easier access to Web sites that match their interests.
Internet Made Easy provides start-up software and browsers from the leading online services (America Online, Prodigy, CompuServe, and WOW) and from top Internet access providers (SPRYNET, NETCOM, EarthLink Network, and PSINet). The two most popular Web browsers, Internet Explorer 2.0 and Netscape Navigator 2.0, are also included. Internet Made Easy provides parental control software including Net Nanny, Cyber Patrol, and CYBERsitter.
