AXENT Technologies Inc. launches worldwide Strategic Alliance and Reseller partnership program
Business Wire, June 26, 1996
ROCKVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 1996--AXENT Technologies Inc., the leading provider of information security solutions for client/server computing environments, announced the Strategic Alliance and Reseller (STAR) program as the foundation and framework for current and future partnerships.
Customer demand for information security solutions has increased dramatically, particularly with the advent of client/server systems and the Internet. Recognizing the importance of offering a complete solution, AXENT has adopted a strategy of partnering with leading systems integrators, VARs, resellers and manufacturers in order to meet expanding customer demands.
"The security software industry is growing too fast to address customer demands solely through direct resources," said Richard Lefebvre, president and chief executive officer of AXENT. "We are committed to rapidly growing AXENT's multiple distribution channels to support increasingly sophisticated customer needs."
The STAR program consists of three areas of partnership:
-- Product Delivery Partners provide sales, marketing and product support for the AXENT range of security solutions. AXENT hosts more than 30 charter members of the STAR program throughout the world. The partners offer AXENT products in South America, Europe, Middle East, South Africa and Pacific Rim, as well as AXENT's direct operations in North America and the United Kingdom.
-- Service Delivery Partners have services associated with security. In this area AXENT has worked with the Big 6 Auditors for many years.
-- Complementary Product Partners have products that benefit from integration with AXENT security solutions. AXENT currently works with well known framework providers such as Tivoli, HP, and AT&T.
The STAR program enables AXENT to actively pursue new partners in all three areas to meet AXENT's goal of providing a security management framework.
AXENT provides enterprise-wide information security solutions for a variety of client/server computing environments. Additionally, OmniGuard provides enhanced data confidentiality, access control, user administration and intrusion detection for PCs, PC-LANs, UNIX, Windows NT and mid-range systems.
Headquartered in Rockville, AXENT Technologies' broad line of security offerings is used by Fortune 1000 and government worldwide to effectively secure and protect information systems in heterogeneous computing environments.
