Dialogic Announces CTI Developers' Starter Kit; Turnkey Kit Includes CT-Connect, Windows NT, Server Hardware, Telephone Switch, CTI Link and Demo Applications
Business Wire, June 27, 1996
PARSIPPANY, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 1996--Dialogic Corporation (NASDAQ:DLGC), the world's leading manufacturer of high performance, standards-based computer telephony (CT) hardware and software, today announced the availability of a turnkey CTI application developers' kit based on its open, standards-based CT-Connect software.
The kit is in response to the needs of Dialogic's business partners -- application developers, VARs and systems integrators -- who need to develop, test, and demonstrate on a CTI-equipped telephone system.
The CT-Connect Starter Kit is a complete, affordable development package for the first-time call control application developer, containing all the hardware and software needed to configure, develop, and test call control applications. The CT-Connect Starter Kit includes:
-- CT-Connect software and documentation;
-- Pentium PC;
-- Microsoft Windows NT operating system;
-- CTI demonstration applications;
-- 16-extension PBX from BBS Telecom, Austin, Texas,
pre-configured with a CSTA-based CTI link and two
telephone sets.
CT-Connect, the operating system and the applications come pre-installed on the Pentium PC. The developer needs to add only a VGA monitor of his choice to have an operational CTI system. The price of this complete kit is $7,800. FOB Dialogic's headquarters in Parsippany, N.J. By contrast, the regular list price of the full CT-Connect software license is $15,000. The CT-Connect Starter Kit is available immediately.
"The CT-Connect Starter Kit was up and running in no time," said Dan Greene, applications developer of DST Systems, Kansas City, Missouri. "We develop voice and related CTI applications for mutual fund and 401k plan management. These customers want to know the application will work before they buy. The Starter Kit gives me a competitive edge which also benefits my customers." DST is a division of Kansas City Southern Railroad, and has about $480 million in revenue.
CT-Connect, developed by Dialogic's CT Division, is a CTI gateway which affords the developer countless application opportunities in an open, standards based environment. Because the Kit contains the complete CT-Connect product, the developer receives:
-- A complete set of CT-Connect switch protocol modules, so the kit can serve as the nucleus of a larger PBX-based installation as development needs grow;
-- The same range of programming interfaces (APIs) as the full CT-Connect product enabling applications written and tested with the BBS Telecom PBX to be ported to other switch platforms;
-- A complete set of CT-Connect client software, so developers can connect additional LAN-based Windows, Unix, OS/2 and OpenVMS systems, and build applications on these platforms as well;
-- Compatibility with standard Windows NT programming languages and development tools.
"The CT-Connect Starter Kit is ideal for the developer wanting to develop, test, debug and demonstrate on an operational telephone system," said Jeff Berenson, senior CTI consultant with Dialogic's Computer-Telephone Division, and the impetus behind the Starter Kit. "Everything is preconfigured and pre-installed. Just take the PC and PBX out of the box, and plug in the cables. You're ready to go."
