Business Wire, June 5, 1996
PHILADELPHIA, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 1996--Destiny Software Corporation today announced the release of its Net Prophet Online Financial Services System. The advanced software solution was unveiled for its premier deployment by Bank of America NT&SA for the bank's HomeBanking system on America Online which debuts this week.
Consisting of an advanced application development environment and tightly integrated server, gateway and application software, the Net Prophet Online Financial Services System offers a complete solution for online interactive transaction capabilities. The system's intelligent application environment and robust back-end connectivity enable a new generation of personalized, interactive financial services over commercial online services, the Internet and private networks.
Based on Destiny's unique software architecture and highly evolved application scripting language, the Net Prophet System facilitates the accelerated development and deployment of systems with advanced, adaptive capabilities. "We developed an online home banking system with highly sophisticated features in half the time expected," stated Robert Newton, vice president of Bank of America's Interactive Banking Unit.
As used on Bank of America's AOL site, HomeBanking offers customers access to a wide range of functions for their checking, savings, and BankAmericard accounts. Capabilities include account balances, electronic bill payment, interaccount transfers, real-time account statements, account history, and direct email correspondence with the Bank. Intelligent features, such as activity sorting, enable users to sort checking account activity by date, check number or type of debit or credit, with simple point and click commands.
"Close collaboration between Bank of America, Destiny and America Online has resulted in an online banking system that not only provides some of the most advanced capabilities of its kind," states Lester Shuda, president of Destiny Software, "but also establishes a new level of ease-of-use by offering one of the most intuitive and adaptive user interfaces."
In addition to HomeBanking on America Online, Bank of America also introduced HomeBanking on the Internet and via a direct connection to the bank with a customized version of Managing Your Money, a popular financial management program. BofA's HomeBanking customers can use these three access methods interchangeably.
As user adoption of online financial services increases, the Net Prophet System's scaleable architecture provides an efficient means to expanding system bandwidth, as required, without the need for system re-engineering. In addition to the advanced Net Prophet Scripting Language, application development and application structure are further simplified through Destiny's financial object toolkit. The toolkit enables applications to employ powerful transaction models to reduce the need for bulky and less flexible rules-based transaction management methods.
Destiny offers the Net Prophet Online Financial Services System and professional services for system customization for a wide range of financial services applications.
