HAIFA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 1996--ISG International Software Group Ltd. (NASDAQ NMS:SISGF) today announced that a live demonstration of ISG Navigator, ISG's new middleware product, was presented by Microsoft at the June 1996 SIGMOD conference in Montreal, Canada.
SIGMOD (Special Interest Group on Management Of Data) is the annual meeting of the world's leading database professionals. At the conference, Microsoft explained the new OLE DB interface for universal data access, its architecture and benefits, and demonstrated ISG Navigator. ISG Navigator is believed to be the first commercial implementation based on a pre-release version of Microsoft's OLE DB specification. ISG Navigator enables applications to access and integrate a wide spectrum of data sources. The data sources include relational databases, hierarchical databases, index file systems, system files, text files, and even applications that can present themselves as tabular data providers. Such variety of data sources is expected to be prevalent in Internet applications. ISG Navigator contains a distributed query processor and optimizer that performs joins, filtering and projections throughout the network. ISG Navigator is ideally suited for building applications that require efficient access to heterogeneous data sources across the Internet. (for more information: www.isg.co.il)
