Infocorp Computer Solutions Ltd. Microsoft Retail Application Developer Awards Finalist

WINNIPEG, Manitoba--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 6, 1996--INFOCORP COMPUTER(TSE, VSE: INP NASDAQ: IFCSF ) Infocorp Computer Solutions Ltd. announced that its retail products, POWERProbe and ClienTell, were selected as two of 23 finalists in the first annual Microsoft(R) Retail Application Developer (R.A.D.) Awards. Microsoft reviewed over 100 applications originally. The R.A.D. awards recognize retail application developers who best use Microsoft technology to provide tangible benefits to small and medium-sized retailers. The application must enhance the retailers' existing business by reducing costs and helping them grow their sales.

POWERProbe was entered in category A (applications shipped prior to June 1, 1996). It combines the robust data collection capability in Infocorp's retail management system, Softwear/P.O.S. with world- class Business Intelligence tools, PowerPlay and Impromptu, from Cognos Corporation (NASDAQ - COGNF; TSE - CSN).

POWERProbe puts valuable enterprise wide intelligence on the desktop of small to medium-sized retailers. With this tool, busy retail executives can identify key reports and customize the reports to show only vial data. Each user can select only the data pertinent to his or her responsibilities. This flexibility and user definable data selection is just part of this powerful tool for retailers.
ClienTell, was entered in category B (applications not shipped prior to June 1, 1996). ClienTell focuses on improving customer service for retail customers. Specialty retailers have long known that customer service is their competitive edge against category killers and discount stores. ClienTell will be the first software application to deliver the tools small to medium sized retailers need to provide this kind of service.
Infocorp Computer Solutions was one of ten software companies included in Canada's High-Tech Hot List published in Maclean's July/95 issue.
