Active Voice introduces new personal telephony software: PhoneMax
Business Wire, March 12, 1996
LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 1996--Active Voice Corp. (Nasdaq: ACVC), a world leader in PC-based voice processing systems and computer-telephone integration, introduced a new TAPI (Telephony Application Program Interface) and TSAPI-based (Telephony Services Application Program Interface) personal telephony software package called PhoneMax(TM) at Computer Telephony Expo this week in booth No. 1608.
Bringing the power and functionality of TAPI and TSAPI telephone systems to the desktop PC, PhoneMax enables users to manage all telephone activity on-screen and use information from personal databases and other applications with every call. PhoneMax makes dialing, answering, transferring, holding, screening and even conferencing calls as simple as clicking and dragging a mouse.
PhoneMax provides an easy-to-use interface with three completely integrated windows that control inbound and outbound calls, log all telephone activity and manage information about each caller. Users easily "drag-and-drop" information between these windows interchangeably. PhoneMax includes an internal Personal Information Manager (PIM) for organizing caller information, and it integrates with many of the most popular third party PIMs and contact managers.
"Active Voice develops products that help people use telephones and computers together in new ways to improve productivity, increase profitability and enhance customer service," said CEO Robert L. Richmond. "PhoneMax is another example of this vision. Quite simply, it lets people manage more calls in less time with less effort."
"PhoneMax is designed specifically for people who spend a great deal of time on the telephone," said Richmond. "It's an ideal tool for small and informal call centers, and any other business where knowledge workers need to communicate as efficiently as possible with a large number of contacts."
PhoneMax requires a TAPI or TSAPI-compliant telephone, and a PC running Microsoft Windows v3.1 or later.
Active Voice has more than 35,000 installations in virtually every type of business in 54 nations worldwide. The Seattle-based corporation has offices in Australia, Canada, China, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Active Voice products are sold through a global network of independent telecommunications dealers and computer resellers. -0-
