Internet Security Systems Launches European Operations: ISS Europe to Distribute Market Leading Security Audit Tools
Business Wire, March 18, 1996
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 18, 1996--Internet Security Systems (ISS) responded to increased demand abroad by setting up a new channel of distribution for its award-winning security audit tool, Internet Scanner.
"We have customers throughout Europe who order Internet Scanner directly through our Web site," said Tom Noonan, president of ISS. "But increasing European demand for Internet Scanner has allowed us to expand our international presence and channels of distribution to better serve customers and meet the exploding demands for this technology outside the United States."
ISS Europe will be headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, with Alex Bogaerts, formerly director of strategic marketing Europe for Dun & Bradstreet Software, serving as managing director. Bogaerts brings to ISS 25 years of information technology marketing experience having launched and managed numerous products in the European marketplace.
"The rapid adoption of the Internet has brought about security concerns that Internet Scanner uniquely addresses," said Bogaerts. "Establishing ISS Europe will allow us to provide European customers the training and support they need to understand and reduce their network security risks."
Initial distribution partners include Data Logic Ltd. and ISBM in the United Kingdom, AXiDiA in France, ARTICON Gmbh in Germany, Software Research and Development S.r.l. and CryptoNet S.r.l. in Italy, Media Communications and SAK data in Sweden, Intercai and R3 Engineering in Switzerland and Astec d.o.o. in Slovenia. Internet Security Systems' exponential growth is driving the need to establish additional strategic distribution partners throughout Europe.
