Business Wire, March 21, 1996

Located on Acclaim's new D web site at http://www.acclaimnation.com, the interactive online quest allows players to explore the minds or either Laura Harris or her father, the lunatic Dr. Richter Harris. Delving into the shrouded world of the subconscious, players can experience multiple story lines for each character as they search for the true meanings behind the personalities and actions of both characters. The road into the mind is convoluted and users who select the wrong path may find themselves trapped in pockets of insanity which populate each characters' mind.
"Essentially what we've done is create a game for a game -- a mystery for a mystery -- and availed it to millions of online users," says Holly Newman, Director of Marketing Communications. "D: The Awakening also serves to set the stage for the forthcoming launch of http://www.acclaimnation.com, the company's new web site."
Developed by Engine.RDA, a new digital communications, design and production company, Acclaim's site utilizes the latest Shockwave server-push animation technology, so that online users may experience interactive scenes embodying a character's unconscious thought, as well as surrealistic flashbacks and accompanying text messages. The site is best experienced with the Netscape 2.0 browser and the Shockwave software is available as a free download.
A macabre journey into the unknown, D is the story of Laura Harris, a young woman plunged into a terrifying world created by her crazed father's rampage in a Los Angeles hospital. As Laura, players enter into the heavily atmospheric world of D, where through a series of adventures and complex problem solving, they must discover the truth behind Dr. Richter Harris' mysterious murder spree.
