Business Wire, March 22, 1996

WEST CHESTER, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 22, 1996--Mars Electronics International Inc. (MEI) introduced at the International Gaming Business Exposition (IGBE) in Las Vegas, its latest modular design bill acceptor the ZT-1000 Series.

The ZT-1000 Series will ready casinos, family fun centers and lottery machines for the 21st century with consistent high security, dependability and performance.

The ZT-1000 provides trouble-free operation, easy removal and access to the reader transport unit (RTU) without any tools -- in amusement, gaming and lottery machine applications. Once the ZT-1000 is installed in a machine it provides the operator/technician with easy access to the RTU.

One hand can be used to snap the RTU and lockable removable cassette (LRC) into place. Calibration is performed by feeding a paper calibration card through the unit. The bill acceptor has a universal facing so that one size fits all models.

"The ZT-1000 will make a great impact on the profitability of slot machines within the casino environment," said Neale Wade sales director gaming products, Mars Electronics International. "I'm sure that when the major slot machine manufacturers fit the ZT-1000 it will become an industry standard within a year."

It has a fixed bill width platform to recognize all United States bills including, $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50 and $100 -- as well as the new, soon-to-be in circulation, $100 bills. It can accept bills in more than one direction and has an increased bill capacity of up to 600 bills for on-going service at high-volume sites. It has also been designed for international applications.

Advanced sensing technology in the ZT-1000 Series provides state-of-the-art protection against cheats and frauds. The front-mounted LRC comes in single- or double-lock formats, with a third lock potential. It requires no tools to remove or secure the RTU and triggers an automatic "cash box out" signal when the cash box is separated from the unit.

The ZT-1000 Series electronic payment system offers high security, high performance and is backed by MEI's commitment to quality and dependability. It reflects more than two decades of corporate expertise in the electronic transaction field.
