DocuMagix HotPage Unveiled at Netscape Internet Developer Conference; Hot New Software Links the Web World to Your World!
Business Wire, March 5, 1996
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 5, 1996--DocuMagix, Inc. today unveiled DocuMagix HotPage for Netscape Navigator, a new Windows software application that easily captures, organizes and manages World Wide Web and Intranet information into an intuitive filing cabinet inside your PC. DocuMagix HotPage lets users combine the flood of Net information and content into their personal workflow.
DocuMagix HotPage increases personal productivity by linking the Web world to the traditional office environment where electronic documents can be treated in conventional ways. Traditionally, "surfers" had only three choices for using Web information -- save the information in ASCII text files, HTML format files, or print it out on paper. Now with DocuMagix HotPage, Web pages can be captured with one click in their original layout, or as electronic paper instantly available to email, fax, copy, edit, annotate, and "virtually staple" with other Windows documents.
DocuMagix HotPage manages the content of Web pages with one click. It installs itself on Netscape Navigator's menu bar and allows users to capture Web pages instantly with their live URL's integrated into HotPage's personalized file cabinet. Once in DocuMagix HotPage, users can merge Web pages with other documents, link any Web page to the original site for an update, or create a hot link to the Web from any Windows document.
"DocuMagix HotPage for Netscape Navigator furthers our commitment to helping people manage their Web content as easily as their personal documents," said Al Sisto, president and CEO of DocuMagix, Inc. "By combining Netscape's popular browser as a gateway to the Web with our award winning filing interface, we are able to offer browser users a simple solution to capture, organize and manage Web content."
DocuMagix HotPage's intuitive and award-winning file cabinet interface lets users file Web and electronic documents in "folders" and "drawers" which can be personalized with colors, icons, and long file names. Documents can be visually located and instantly retrieved or searched for by their title, annotation or content. In addition, DocuMagix HotPage features DocuMagix' proprietary AutoFiling technology, which recognizes similar documents and automatically files them in the proper folder.
"DocuMagix is leading the next wave of personal software products for the Internet," said Ira Machefsky, research analyst for Giga Information Group, Inc. "DocuMagix HotPage solves a problem that troubles most of us -- what do you do with Web information once you've found it? DocuMagix HotPage is the solution for the personal Web user."
