Imagination Pilots announces licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the creation of a game based on the upcoming Warner Bros. theatrical release "Eraser"

Business Wire, May 14, 1996

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 1996--Imagination Pilots announced today a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment for the creation of a CD ROM game based on ``Eraser,'' the upcoming Warner Bros. feature film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, produced by Arnold and Anne Kopelson, directed by Chuck Russell, which is scheduled to be released domestically in theaters this June.

Imagination Pilots will target the game for a Pentium 100 and above computer platform. Worldwide distribution of the title will occur during 1996-1997.

"ERASER" CD ROM GAME

Like the award-winning game Imagination Pilots created for the MGM/United Artists film ``Blown Away,'' the ``Eraser'' CD ROM game will immerse the player in a cinematic drama that challenges the player's intelligence and imagination with realistic, interactive settings and a complex array of characters played by professional actors.

In the CD ROM game based on ``Eraser,'' Imagination Pilots will introduce new gaming technologies that increase the realism of the cinematic game genre. Taking advantage of proprietary streaming video, players will enjoy smooth manipulation of uninterrupted video and immediate interaction with characters or settings. Adding to the uniqueness of the ``Eraser'' CD ROM game will be an individual ``game personality'' engine formed by the player's choice of various constructed behavioral profiles and by interactions with intelligent automated assistants called RALFs (regressive artificial life forms). Dispatched by the player with typewritten commands, the helpful RALFs will evaluate data, retrieve information and provide other guidance delivered, most often, in the form of proverbs or playful statements of philosophy.

WORLDWIDE DISTRIBUTION ARRANGEMENTS

International sales of Imagination Pilots' CD ROM titles are represented on an exclusive basis by Octagon Entertainment, Inc. of Durham, N.C., headed by Kirk Owen.

Imagination Pilots, Chicago, Ill., is a software company known for the tightly administered development of cinematic adventures and education titles that include award-winning ``Blown Away,'' ``Panic in the Park,'' ``Where's Waldo? at the Circus'' and ``Where's Waldo? Exploring Geography,'' the first two in a series of ``Where's Waldo?'' titles.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE) is a division of Time Warner Entertainment Company, L.P. and a part of the Warner Bros. Consumer Products Group. WBIE is focused on licensing Warner Bros. owned and developed properties for all consumer game and computer platforms. It is also a publisher of interactive entertainment programming based on Warner Bros. assets.
