Business Wire, May 2, 1996
INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 1996--Software Artistry, Inc. (NASDAQ: SWRT) has been named in Inc. magazine's list of the "100 Fastest-Growing Small Public Companies" (May 1996).
Recognizing companies from bakeries to brew pubs to software companies, Inc. highlighted Software Artistry with a growth percentage rate of 1,856% from fiscal years 1991 through 1995. From a long list of public help desk software companies, Software Artistry was one of only two who made the list.
"We are truly honored to be included among such notable companies," stated W. Scott Webber, Software Artistry's president and CEO. "We have made great strides since 1991 in becoming the leading provider of Enterprise Support Management solutions and are pleased to be recognized by Inc. magazine for our efforts."
The criteria to make the list included various elements. Mainly, companies had to be independent and could not be divisions or subsidiaries of other companies; had to have gone public before December 31, 1995; had to have reported revenues of at least $200,000 in 1991; and had to have an active market in their stock.
With these measures as a guideline, 446 companies were selected in an automated process conducted by Moody's Investors Service. Inc.'s team then reviewed financial results of these companies and interviewed the CEOs and CFOs of these companies to select the final 100.
