Montgomery Securities Initiates Coverage of Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc. with a BUY Rating

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 1996--Montgomery Securities Analyst Michael Moe has initiated coverage of Sylvan Learning Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SLVN) with a BUY rating.
Moe expects the company to earn $0.95 per share in Fiscal Year (December) 1996 and $1.35 per share in Fiscal Year 1997. His 12 month target price is $55, or approximately 40% above current levels.
Sylvan Learning Systems is the nation's leader in tutorial services. Presently, Sylvan has three synergistic businesses, each with strong growth potential: the original Sylvan learning center business, computer based testing services and on-site tutorial services in schools and businesses. Sylvan's Testing Services is the clear leader in computer based testing. Sylvan now has more than 260 testing centers in the U.S. and provides test administration services in more than 30 international markets.
Moe's BUY rating is based on his belief that Sylvan Learning Systems has enormous long-term growth potential along with an extremely strong and motivated management team.
