Intelligent Decision Systems Inc. announces intent to purchase The Neptune Group Inc

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1996--Effective Monday, Intelligent Decision Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:IDSI) ("IDS") announced its intention to purchase all of the outstanding common stock of The Neptune Group Inc.
Neptune, a privately held Delaware corporation, is a leasing and financial services company.
IDS currently has a contractual purchase/leaseback relationship with Neptune relating to the Vision System project. The Neptune purchase is expected to provide for improved coordination of resources, reduced financing costs and streamlined operations.
Mark A. Babin, IDS's president and chief executive officer, stated, "...the acquisition represents a significant advance in our integration strategy and could also set the stage for development of a new line of financial products that could enhance the value of our existing products and services." Management believes that a formal purchase agreement can be reached within the next three to four weeks.
IDS and its subsidiary Digital Sciences Inc. continue to work together with National Purchasing Corp. (d/b/a HPSI) of Irvine, Calif., to enhance and market a comprehensive business and care management computer system for use in the long term health care industry (the "Vision System").
