Outlook Software Corp. bundles Microsoft Internet Explorer Web browser in new products

Business Wire, May 30, 1996

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 30, 1996--Outlook Software Corp., a leading provider of innovative real estate and property management software products and solutions, is now including the Microsoft(R) Internet Explorer(TM) for Windows(R) 95 with its products developed for the Microsoft Windows(R) 95 operating system.

Under the agreement with Microsoft, Outlook Software will include the Microsoft Internet Explorer in its new Internet-enabled software products.

"There are currently an estimated 40 million Internet users," said Dan Bourgoin, manager of real estate industry marketing at Microsoft. "The simple fact that there are so many users who are now surfing the Net makes providing Internet-enabled products a very wise strategy. We were happy to have a company with the foresight of Outlook Software include Microsoft Internet Explorer in its products," Bourgoin said.

Outlook has already released the first Internet-enabled product: Amortizer96, a professional financial calculations program. Microsoft Internet Explorer allows users to easily access the Internet for up-to-date mortgage and loan rates for all geographic regions. The user may then download the information into the Amortizer96 program to calculate and compare what-if scenarios for mortgages, personal loans and savings or retirement plans.

The next product to include Microsoft Internet Explorer, Real Estate Organizer, is to be shipped this month. Real Estate Organizer, a contact manager for commercial real estate professionals, will utilize the Web browser to allow users to access real estate-related Web sites from around the world. The user then has a multitude of information, at their fingertips, that would be extremely time consuming and difficult to obtain by other, more traditional methods.

"Including Microsoft Internet Explorer in our products is just part of our overall strategy of providing our customers with the tools they need to gain a significant competitive advantage in their market," said John Jeffus, chief technical officer of Outlook Software.

"Using Internet-enabled products allow the user to maximize all avenues of communications available to receive and utilize up-to-date information in their business activities. Through our products, users can now access the World Wide Web anytime day or night to gather current market data, purchase new products, or receive service and support on products they're already using," Jeffus concluded.

Outlook Software Corp., based in Dallas, develops and supports a full line of Microsoft Windows-based applications for real estate professionals and small businesses. Outlook plans to bundle Microsoft Internet Explorer with all new or upgraded products introduced in the Windows 95 platform.
