EPSON now shipping the world's smallest, lightest, brightest, high-performance class multimedia projector

Business Wire, May 6, 1996

TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 6, 1996--EPSON, the world's leading provider of high-performance portable projectors, Monday announced shipment of its latest generation of high-luminance, full-color, liquid crystal multimedia projectors, the EPSON ELP-3300.

This new projector is the next phase in EPSON's expanding visual communications lineup, and is 75 percent brighter than any ordinary projector. Unequivocally the smallest and lightest high-performance class VGA projector in the world, the ELP-3300 offers mobile presenters a brighter solution than any other available today.

At under 17 pounds and with a three-ring binder-sized footprint of 11.2 x 16.3 x 5.9 inches, the ELP-3300 is 37 percent smaller and 35 percent lighter (by six pounds) than its closest competitor. For high-quality viewing, the ELP-3300's three high-aperture LCDs feature 921,600 pixels (total) and a maximum resolution of 640 x 480, enabling reproduction of PC or Mac images in up to 16.7 million colors.

Users select a screen size ranging from 21 inches to 300 inches diagonally, on which images are reproduced. At 350 true ANSI lumens, the ELP-3300 is the brightest of any high-performance projector in the "under 20 pounds" class. As a result, viewers can enjoy large, clear images in offices, conference rooms or auditoriums, even when the lights are on!

The ELP-3300 is equipped with a format analyzer that automatically distinguishes between PCs and Macs, as well as PAL, SECAM and NTSC video. All input ports and cables are supplied with the projector for connecting a user's existing video and VGA-capable computer displays.

The ELP-3300 also comes with a powerful remote control device that features a convenient track ball and utility software, allowing remote adjustment of volume, brightness and other levels. Additionally, EPSON offers a line of accessories, including carrying cases and high-performance screens.

Carrying a manufacturer's suggested list price of $9,599, the EPSON ELP-3300 is available through the company's AV VAR dealer network. EPSON sells the ELP-3300 with a one-year warranty, which includes EPSON ExtraCare Road Service and is supported by the EPSON Connection, a toll-free customer support and technical assistance line.
