Business Wire, May 8, 1996
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 8, 1996--Hypercom Inc., a global supplier of point-of-sale (POS) products, today announced their plan to preview the Merchant/Customer Loyalty Application at CardTech/ SecurTech, the industry's largest conference addressing advanced card and security technology.
The conference will be held in Atlanta, May 13-16.
Loyalty programs reward the merchant's customers for repeat business. Currently very successfully used by the top retail establishments throughout Hong Kong, Hypercom's Merchant/Customer Loyalty Application is an electronic tracking system for monitoring purchases through POS terminals.
Based on pre-selected criteria, the program tallies the customers' usage and awards bonus points accordingly. Fundamental to the program's success is that it is designed to meet the consumer's, merchant's and financial institution's collective needs and objectives.
"Hypercom terminals using Merchant/Customer Loyalty Application have a built-in accounting and redemption function that will be very attractive to merchants who are instituting their own loyalty programs at supermarkets, department stores and hotels," explained John Marshall, Hypercom vice president of sales.
"Consumer response in Hong Kong has been incredible. We feel very confident that our U.S. customers will appreciate what our system's loyalty program application can do to grow their business."
