Forty Companies Speak Up on CompCore's SoftDVD

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 12, 1996--CompCore Multimedia, Inc. launched its SoftDVD technology on Nov. 5 generating significant interest throughout the personal computer marketplace.

CompCore is now working with over forty companies in the industry to insure that SoftDVD meets their requirements. SoftDVD is CompCore's premier MPEG-2 and Dolby Digital software decoder for enabling PCs to play DVD content without specialized hardware.

Included is a compilation of quotes from such notable companies as Intel, Microsoft, Dolby Laboratories, Compaq, Packard Bell, Diamond, S3, ATI, Cirrus Logic, Matrox, Trident, Rendition, IBM Microelectronics, Philips Semiconductor, Matsushita, Warner Media, Zoran and many others who speak up on CompCore's SoftDVD.

This extensive list spans PC manufacturers, software developers, graphics chip/card manufacturers, video/audio chip developers, DVD content producers and audio technology providers. SoftDVD will be demonstrated in Las Vegas at Comdex in CompCore's booth number M2562 in the upper level of the Sands Exhibition center.

Beta versions of SoftDVD are now available to qualified OEMs for evaluation.

Activision Studios
