Agrium to open 10 new farm centers in Argentina

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 18, 1996--Agrium (TSE, NYSE:AGU.) Agrium Inc. today announced that it will open 10 new retail Farm Centers in Argentina.
This will increase the total number of Agrium Farm Centers in Argentina to 18. All of the new facilities will be owned and operated by Agroservicios Pampeanos, S.A., Agrium's subsidiary in Argentina. Target opening date for the new facilities is April 1, 1997.
Total fixed asset investment in the new facilities will be approximately US$19 million. The new Farm Centers will be located in Buenos Aires, Cordoba, Entre Rios and Santa Fe provinces.
"This investment reflects the success we have experienced at the eight outlets currently operating in this emerging agricultural market," said Larry A. Collins, Agrium Vice President, International.
