Best Data Products today introduced the Smart One(TM) Digital Color Camera, a full 24-bit digital color video camera that plugs right into the parallel port of a personal computer. At $199 MSRP including software, the Smart One Digital Color Camera is the most affordable color digital camera available. Bundled with the camera are H.324 compatible videoconferencing, multimedia photo and movie creation software.

The Smart One Digital Color Camera installs easily by plugging into the parallel port of the computer, without any special hardware. Low power consumption and its compact, lightweight design make the camera ideal for portable use with notebook computers in addition to traditional desktop computers.

The camera is easy to operate. The automatic exposure control adjusts for all light levels, including indoors and outdoors, and the automatic color balancing provides natural colors in incandescent, fluorescent, or outdoor lighting. The fast (f1.8) fixed focus lens provides sharp images from 12" to infinity.

The Smart One Digital Color Camera is perfectly designed for video conferencing, with a wide, 60 degree angle of view, and compliance with the H.324 International Video Conferencing standard. The removable monitor-top mount provides 360 degree pan and 60 degree tilt to accommodate virtually any office requirement.

When used for video conferencing or recording digital video movies for multimedia, the Smart One Digital Color Camera provides the choice of three video sizes: 160x120, 144x112 or 112x80, at up to 10 frames per second. Used to capture digital still images, the Smart One Digital Color Camera provides 320x240 resolution.

The Smart One Digital Color Camera is compatible with Windows 95 and Windows 3.x and features a simple plug-in installation that takes less than 5 minutes.
