CN Pension Trust Fund - Acquisition of Freehold Royalty Trust Units

MONTREAL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 25, 1996--CANADIAN NATIONAL RAILWAY CO. (ME;TSE CNR.IR, NYSE CNI ) administrator of the CN Pension Trust Fund, announces that the CN Pension Trust Fund (the "Fund") acquired 5,280,000 units of FREEHOLD ROYALTY TRUST on 25 November, 1996 on The Toronto Stock Exchange in an initial public offering.
These units represent 20 percent of the outstanding units of FREEHOLD ROYALTY TRUST. The acquisition was made for investment purposes.
