Wang's Imaging for Windows 95 Ships With Microsoft Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2

Imaging for Windows Features Enhanced Capabilities for
Windows 95 Users
Wang (NASDAQ:WANG) today announced its Imaging for Windows 95 software, the standard document imaging software for Microsoft Windows 95, has been enhanced and is now available to OEMs as part of the Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2.
The newest version of Wang's Imaging for Windows 95 provides ease-of-use and time savings benefits to users. New features include improved scanning functions, support for additional file formats and compression types, updated user interface, and enhanced annotation support. In addition to being part of the Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2, the enhanced version of Imaging for Windows 95 is also available via download from the Wang Web site, http://www.wang.com/sbu/image95enh.htm.
>Imaging for Windows 95Imaging for Windows 95, developed by Wang, has been available to Windows 95 users via download from the Microsoft and Wang Web sites since January, 1996. To date, more than 200,000 users have accessed the software via the Internet.
Imaging for Windows 95 is also available through the Microsoft Developers Network CD and is a standard feature in the Windows NT Workstation 4.0 operating system. Customers purchasing new PCs that have the Windows 95 OEM Service Release 2 pre-installed will benefit from having imaging capabilities standard in the Windows 95 operating system.
Imaging for Windows 95 provides users with the ability to scan, view, annotate, manage, store and share faxes, paper documents and electronic images. In addition, Microsoft has upgraded the Windows 95 fax facility, replacing the fax viewer with the full functionality of Imaging for Windows 95. In addition, the Imaging for Windows 95 software and OCXs are compatible with Wang's Imaging for Windows NT 4.0 software, allowing users of both operating systems to share the same image documents in an open, standard manner or develop image-enabled applications that will be consistent on both platforms.

In April 1995, Microsoft and Wang announced a broad alliance designed to provide superior 32-bit OLE imaging at the desktop. This alliance brings document imaging capabilities to all Windows 95 and Windows NT users, exposing millions of new users to the value of imaging at the desktop. As part of the alliance, Microsoft designated Wang as its preferred workflow and imaging vendor.
