SSDS Inc. debuts Network & Systems Management services; initial offerings to focus on Cabletron's SPECTRUM

SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 1996--Leading technology integrator SSDS Inc. (Englewood, Colo.) Tuesday announced availability of the first of the company's new Network & Systems Management Solutions.

First in a family, the initial SSDS services address network management and are built around Cabletron's SPECTRUM, a leading distributed management platform. Targeted at both commercial and government organizations, SSDS' Network & Systems Management Solutions draw upon the company's 10-year history of implementing and managing enterprise-wide information infrastructures. Initially, two SPECTRUM-based services will be available: Network Management Assessment and Network Management Implementation.

Both the Network Management Assessment, and Network Management Implementation are available now. Network Management Assessment creates the foundation for a stable and efficient network management implementation. Included in the Assessment is a review and analysis of the customer's operational readiness and business/technical requirements, as well as the creation of a plan for managing the corporate network infrastructure. The SSDS team documents their findings, and identifies the computer platforms and SPECTRUM software modules that best meet the client's operational and business objectives. Network Management Assessment is a configurable service that is done in a fixed-price, fixed-time manner.

Network Management Implementation is also a configurable service that depends upon the unique Internet/Intranet requirements of each individual enterprise. Implementation includes the SPECTRUM implementation, configuration, and customization, to effectively and efficiently manage the customer's network infrastructure. It also includes developing a strategy and plan to manage change as well as address new skill requirements and knowledge transfer, so the customer can manage the ongoing integration and operation in a self-sufficient manner. Network Management Implementation is done in a fixed-price, fixed-time, iterative fashion.

SSDS has successfully implemented Cabletron's SPECTRUM at numerous client sites, prior to the official introduction of the fixed-price services. Among SSDS' existing clients in this area are LA Air Force, Air Force Military Command (AFMC), and the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).
