HP SupportPack Expanded To Provide Enhanced Hardware And Software Network Support; Simple, Scaleable Services Include Installation, Support and Recovery of Microsoft Windows NT and Novell NetWare Environments

PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 14, 1996--Hewlett- Packard Company today announced it will expand its popular HP SupportPack family of services to include installation, configuration and network-operating-system recovery of HP NetServer system-based networks. With two new services and enhancements to HP's existing HP SupportPack products, HP now offers the industry's most complete service and support solution for PC-based networks available through resellers.

"HP SupportPack products give network managers a highly flexible way to get the level of network support they need."
New Network Services
HP SupportPack services for network environments now include the following: -0-
Installation and network configuration for HP NetServer systems, HP hubs, bridges and switches, as well as HP and non-HP PC clients and network printers. The service ensures reliable end-to-end connection between the server and clients that run Novell NetWare or Microsoft(R) Windows NT.
Hardware support for HP network-connectivity products, including three-year same-day response for hubs, bridges, switches and routers. Hardware support for HP NetServer systems that has been enhanced to include restoration of a Novell NetWare or Microsoft Windows NT network operating system after a hardware failure. Same-day or 24-hour by seven-day-per-week response is available. Second-day response service is offered on the new HP NetServer system Model E30 as well.

Purchase of HP SupportPack service products with each HP NetServer system ensures that the cost of establishing and maintaining a complex network environment is known upfront.

HP SupportPack service products are sold worldwide to ensure that consistent, high-quality network support is available for managers who maintain environments in multiple geographical locations.

In addition, HP resellers may integrate HP SupportPack service products with other services to provide a complete service and support solution to the HP NetServer customer.
HP SupportPack Family Expands
The HP SupportPack family of network services also includes software-support services as follows: -0-
HP SupportPack LAN support provides direct telephone assistance for Microsoft Windows NT, Novell NetWare and other standard network operating environments. HP network professionals provide rapid fault isolation and remote resolution of problems in small to medium-sized networks. Standard business hours and 24-hour by 7-day-a-week coverage is available. The service comes in convenient five- and 10-incident bundles. The service is valid for one year or until the number of incidents has been used, whichever comes first.
HP SupportPack Comprehensive Network Support extends LAN support coverage to wide area connections in medium- to large-sized networks. HP network experts provide problem-resolution management should other vendors need to be involved to solve a network problem. Microsoft BackOffice support also is available.
